Dexter's father has cancer, and while his parents visit Seattle in hopes of finding a cure, Dexter is sent to live with his Grandmother in Kentucky. Dexter puts on a brave front, but ends up acting out at school and getting into some trouble. Luckily, Dexter has a good teacher who helps him through his problems and Dexter finds a friend along the way.

I liked it because Dexter told Robin that he was sorry for punching him. My favorite part was when he ate the graham crackers and the canned pears because it was funny.

Dexter the Tough was a wonderful book because it reminds all of us what it is like moving to a new school. Dexter had a "very rough" first day but ending up becoming friends with the very person he beat up. My class enjoyed hearing this book read aloud to them very much. Many days, we wanted to continue reading because the story had reached a great part!
dexter the tough is a good book to me because it tells you about two boy that were enimmies at first beacause dexter hit the boy named roben and after they became good friends because dexter had said sorry to roben.
Dexter the tough was great to me because at first in the story his dad was sick and had to go to the hospitil and dexter had to go to a new school he was really mad and he punched Robin Brice in the face and in the middle he meet Garry his next door nabor and he knew Garry's name because dexter has beengeting his mail i loved Dexter the Tough NiiyaGerald Mrs Rawl

I like your book because first he hits a boy in the face real hard because he was new to the school and he was mad. then he becomome frandes with him this how they did it. derster was riderin hes dads bike aroude the narboerhood and he got lost so he saw the boy he hit at school the first day. but hes dad was sick so he had to live with hes gramol in till hes dad got baeter. from blake herron. bye bye

Hola Mrs.Merritt! This is the best BOOK! My favorite part is when Dexter and robin meet in the bathroom and Robin was crying Then Dexter Punch Robin in the FACE! They Hated Each other at first But Then they are friends now. Robin was a Home school Then he begged to go to School. Dexter Was from A diffirent State and he didn't know anbody. Dexter Hated Everybody. He is sad becuase his dad is sick and his mom is taking care of dexter's dad. He had to go to his GrandMa becuase His Mom/Dad Couldn't take care of dexter. Dexter,the tough is a book tells you that you can make friend's if their mean or not.This book also tells you not to beat up a kid are not to beat up aneyone in school.
